Do you run your own website? Want to apply password protection to one or more web pages?
AQL Htaccess & Htpasswd Password Manager (Screenshots) controls access to any webpage running Apache in three quick steps, manage multiple users, add, delete, or suspend the user account by simple clicks. Also, you can create random passwords for the users that are highly secure and extremely difficult to crack or guess due to an optional combination of lower and upper case letters, numbers and punctuation symbols.
To run AQL Htaccess & Htpasswd Password Manager, your system must meet these specifications:
AQL Htaccess & Htpasswd Password Manager password-protects Apache & Apache compatible web servers. Your web server should supports the .htpasswd and .htaccess standards outlined by Apache:
Locate your httpd.conf file and make sure the following line is not commented out with a #:
LoadModule auth_module modules/mod_auth.so
The AllowOverride directive tells Apache that authentication settings (including usernames, passwords, etc) can be specified for individual directories (folders). There should be a line in your httpd.conf file that reads:
AllowOverride AuthConfig
When this directive is set to None, then .htaccess files are completely ignored. In this case, the server will not even attempt to read .htaccess files in the file system.
